state of the grandma
Sep. 21st, 2007 04:11 pmNo real change. She's still varying in and out of paranoia about people trying to kill her, and talking to people who aren't there, and forgetting people who WERE there, and so on. And ranting and threatening. This isn't my grandma. Where's my grandma and can't I please have her back?
More pertinently: The medicoes have ruled out stroke (MRI shows no evidence), other brain trauma (MRI and CAT scan), UTI (well...they say they had, but Mom hasn't actually seen them take a sample, so she's not sure how they know), and the one of her meds that could potentially have mental effects. She does have "some pneumonia" and "a nodule in her other lung", which none of us has a notion what that even means, but presume it's not related to mental foo or else, well, they wouldn't still be not having an answer. The hospital is now moving her to a nursing home, and has requested Mom to choose one.
I asked Mom again if she wanted me to come home & rally 'round the flag, but so far she still says not.
