NYT article on Scotch; and it quotes the excellent and much-respected Ethan, spirit sommelier at the Brandy Library, who guided us throughout a wonderful evening on the occasion of [livejournal.com profile] erinfinnegan's natal celebrations. (And who remembered the year-previous visit of [livejournal.com profile] nedlnthred, [livejournal.com profile] missionista, and me. Oh dear oh dear, I didn't think we were that memorable...)

Dear God, how I love that place. My idea of luxury is having enough wherewithal to be able to split my time between there and Little Branch. And maybe the 8th St. Winecellar.

I seem to recall we were the only females there. Of course we were memorable! Also, we flirted a lot with the spirit somnelier/bartender. :) That was fun, again, again!

Doubtful that week. My last class is on the 18th, and its a test. The only day free is either monday or friday.

M. and I were out to dinner on a Saturday night with my mother at a place near the Brandy Library. We told her about it and she said, "I haven't had a Brandy Alexander since the 1950s." So we went to the Brandy Library after dinner. As is often the case on a Saturday, they were full, and being a classy organization they weren't letting anyone else in. However, they recognized M. because he had been their twice that week (for work REALLY!) and so we were ushered to a private little bar downstairs that only has 4 stools and its very own bar tender. We got to watch him make brandy alexanders with precision and the Brandy Library's homemade creme de cacao. Yum!

Needless to say, I highly recommend the place. Oh, and the entire Dining Out section of the New York Times today is about cocktails, so be sure to read all the articles.
