...and sometimes that's enough.

So by [livejournal.com profile] sweh's kind DVRination I can watch this new TV show starring Captain Tightpants, which is something about him being a Famous Mystery Writer tagging along with A Real (Hot Female) Detective, team up, solve crimes, blah blah blah. In the inverse of the usual case, we have decent actors soldiering on with material that ranges from the tolerable to the Oh My God How Fucking Cringeworthy Can You Get, and they manage to be just good enough to carry it. Or at least, keep me from flinging the remote across the room until it randomly lands on a different channel. The Police Work[tm] isn't quite CSI bad (or what I hear of CSI, anyways, I have never sullied my virgin eyes with it but it's a favorite LOLtopic in panix.chat), but Lord, it ain't good.

Maybe it's just the divine Nathan. He twinkles.

"CSI" is to crime shows as "House" is to medical drama. The reality is far far more crowded with supporting cast and far far more mundane. And honestly, every hospital has like, maybe 1 hot doctor, sorry "Grey's Anatomy".
We haven't gotten a chance to see "Castle" yet. I will nudge my television viewing director (Tim) into recording it. Cuz you know, unless he records it, I don't get a chance to see it. I work during prime time.

My friend Dr. Nick says that, of all the medical shows that have aired, "Scrubs" is the most realistic.

He does. Did you ever see him in Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place back in the day?

I did not! I know nothing of this.

He was also most happymaking in Slither, which I ordinarily would have avoided like plague. I do not like leeches A LOT.

Yes, I do so love me my Captain Tightpants too! So I've been watching Castle, where they have cleverly cast him as a flirtatious, intelligent, smart-alec. Gee. doesn't that sound like the character we knew and loved? Yum for typecasting. Have you see him as Captain Hammer in Dr. Horrible? giggle giggle. "My fist is not my hammer." giggle.
