serindeFinally--FINALLY--I'd managed to capture the two episodes of Jonathan Creek that I'd been missing, so I could start transferring them to tape. This I began to do yesterday, when suddenly in the middle of the second episode, Mr. TiVo freaked out, gave a bunch of flashing colors, and started to reboot.
And failed, and flashed colors, and started to reboot.
Again and again and again...
Yes it was on a surge protector, and yes we tried unplugging it and letting it cool down for several hours. I don't know if these symptoms betoken a fried unit or a fried hard drive, but either way I'm not a happy bunny, and if it's the hard drive toasted I shall be very put out.
Other than that, standard weekend of deck, hammock, and grilling. Somewhat out of sorts for much of it, even before the betrayal of technology; Steve thinks it may have been blood sugar fluctuations, and there may be truth to that, since I've now been back on Atkins for two days and I seem to have levelled out, mood-wise. (Put on 4 pounds while gone, 2.5 of which have already disappeared again. Could be worse, could be worse.) Slept for shit last night, which I recall also happening when I first started on Atkins. Coincidence?
Tonight, a pooky night; we are going to see the latest Pixar flick.
