I just tried the "garlic oil cure" for sinusitis in Jeanne Rose's Herbal. It's one that she reports as having tried herself with great success, so I figured I'd go for it. (Apparently it's a Roman trick, originally.) All you do is smash some garlic cloves, stir them up with water, draw off the liquids...and shoot about ten drops of 'em up your nose.
So I tried it on one side (leaving the other as a control). Scientific analysis: hurts like a motherfucker, but it actually does seem to help. It's not any magic bullet, but the pressure is much reduced.
