Sing a song of facilities management
Sep. 11th, 2003 12:22 pmThe building's water has been off for the past three hours or so (a bad water pump, which they claimed would only take an hour to fix). This is the second time in as many weeks we have had no potty service for an extended period of time, and it's not delightful. (So far, management response seems to be of the level "here's where the bathroom is in the Bed Bath & Beyond on the corner of our block".) Plus, the office AC has gone tits-up, so it's starting to get a bit toasty in here. The accounting guy tipped me off that we'd just cancelled our maintenance contract, because El Jefe felt it cost too much. Now it's probably going to cost more...when it finally gets fixed, because the company gives priority to their contract customers.
Point of self-aggrandizement: I can wear my black denim vest/shirt again, which I couldn't (without it looking like my breasts were about to come bursting out the front like an Alien) even six weeks ago; and I'm on the tightest hole of my good belt. All this, though my weight has only gone down slightly in the past few weeks, so clearly things are still busily redistributing.
Though, I'm now out of belts.
