Went out shopping last night in quest of a wedding-suitable dress, since very few of my dresses fit me any more (as I learned in the course of the last wedding I went to). Most everything in size 14 was too big. Most everything in size 12 was too small. We Are Not Amused.

I did find a few dresses which fit in each size, but I either didn't care for the way they looked on me (large breast pockets are not at all flattering when sitting on top of large breasts), or they weren't suitable for my current purpose. I am not unduly downcast, since hitting the discount places like Filene's Basement and Daffy's is a crapshoot anyways, but was vaguely annoyed since I'd been having luck at both places of late.

A propos, the current wibbles: my weight has stayed steady over the past month or six weeks--but the belt continues to grow looser. Just exactly how much redistribution can there possibly be? If this keeps up, I may finish by looking the way I want to, but my body'll as dense as a neutron star. Puzzlement #2 is that, okay, I seem to be entering the outer reaches of size 12 jeans, which is what I was wearing in high school, but I did the numbers last night and realized that I need to drop a good six inches yet around the tum to fit into my prom dress, according to what the dress place back then told me my measurements were. One of these facts is not like the others! I'd like to know which to believe, so I can make an accurate prediction of just how much longer I need to keep on this bloody diet. (In all honesty, it's not a question of craving bread or sugar; it's the nuisance factor, which when you're out for the evening is vast beyond description.)

I think that I'm compressing too. When I had no appetite I got thinner. My favourite corset is a bit too big and jeans that I was wearing three months ago are laughably overlarge on me. The bathroom scales, otoh, are attempting to convince me that I have put on half a stone.

That's a pain. I seem to be between sizes in the jeans area, which makes shopping for jeans really annoying.

Did you get email regarding crash space for Friday? (I forgot to mention, possibly Saturday, too) Thanks!

I'm sad to say that sizes have gotten larger as years have gone on. Those who used to be size twelve are now size ten and so on... I think Beth could tell you more about that trend. As for when you go off of the diet...add the carbs back very slowly, otherwise you may find all of your hard work to be for a very short period of accomplishment. I can't seem to find clothes either. It seems that I am the wrong proportions for anything in NY to fit me properly. (What??!? A woman with curves?!? NO!! None of that here!!!!) On the up side, you look great.. and you can kick the asses of the people who make the clothes out here :)
