Re-entering the arena...
Mar. 1st, 2004 01:52 pmNo aikido all of last week due to lack of coverage (feh) but I don't seem to have backslid much. Was working with Jeremy, who leveled up when I did; this is always educational, because he is Mr. Inertia. Being a good bit taller than me, but more importantly very very solid, it's often difficult for me to move him unless I do the technique Just So. This can be frustrating but it's excellent practice. (And, on the carrot side, when I do throw him he goes halfway to the moon, which is gratifying.)
It's a beautiful day today, perfect weather for lifeforms like me (just 60 deg. F.), and I worried a bit about overheating; but another feature of working with Jeremy is that he overheats worse than I do, so I don't generally have to kill myself to keep up.
I really, really must get a handle on forward rolls when I can't get my arm down to lead the way. The rest of the world does it without breaking their necks and I can too, so my paranoid backbrain will please sit down and shut its pie hole.
