See? Mood flip.
Dec. 7th, 2006 01:05 pmAnd after the morning's O PITY ME, I'm now all excited and interested because, in catching up on the Age of the Cotehardie mailing list, I find that one of the moderators wrote a paper on exactly the topics that were bugging me upon completion of Fashion in the Age of the Black Prince. Also, links to several other analyses, including Robin Netherton's remarks on the gothic fitted dress. This is very timely, too, since I am going to be fitting one next week; but mostly I'm joyed about having my questions answered, or at least discussed.
They do say wine is good for the heart.
Dec. 7th, 2006 09:36 pmAnd yet further past the O PITY ME, I've just had a relaxed yet productive evening: comprising laundry, cat maintenance, minor kitchen cleansing, general tidying, changing sheets on guest bed, finishing the shiny!scarf I was making for myself but which I'm probably going to give to Kasia, a bath, and experimenting with
naudia's home waxing kit. (Which I'm fairly sure I'm not ready to attempt it on my tender pink bits, but on the rest of the bod it seems to go okay. Messy, though.)
Obviously I should slump around LJ being emo more often.
Remains only to confirm that what I want to wear tomorrow is fit to be worn (in the interest of avoiding another morning round of fashion emergency), and then to bed for a glorious nine hours, the sort of Holy Grail of this household that no one ever manages to grasp. ...or fail in virtue and run a couple missions. Cough.
