State of the Cat
Oct. 10th, 2005 11:52 amAbdominal ultrasound: nothing. Blood test: various stressors from, oh, NOT EATING, but nothing diagnostically significant. Chest x-ray: will be back this afternoon, but I'm betting nothing there, either.
They've given him an appetite stimulant and he's started chowing down in his normal piglike fashion--he's already gained a pound back just since being at the hospital.
Probable diagnosis: Mage is a drama queen who has decided to go on hunger strike over some vexation instead of peeing on the bed (his usual protest statement), and as cats will, got into a state where having not eaten for awhile he doesn't feel like starting again. If this be the case, it's just a question of jump-starting him with appetite stimulants for a week or so and then he should be back to normal.
Until the next stressor.
Like moving.
Gah.
