Sony music CDs that list as "copy-protected" install rootkits on Windows systems.
("Rootkit" may be a strong word for it, as it doesn't completely PWN j00 as I understand it, but it is definitely and beyond any shadow of a doubt craptastic malware, and it will break your shit in impressive fashion if you try to remove it with standard removal tools.)
So, it was Sony that actually got caught, but one wonders how many other companies are doing similar shit.
